The 2022 elections are only one year away, and while that seems like a long time, we need to start gearing up for our campaigns in the Oregon Senate now.

Last weekend, I had the honor of speaking at a Democratic Party of Oregon event with Congresswoman Nikema Williams of Georgia. She made an incredibly important point in her speech—there are no off years in politics.

We have to hustle, especially when we are faced with the opposition's blatant misinformation on science, scare tactics on racial equity in education, and the dangerous and false narrative of voting fraud.

And we know that for issues like reinvesting in our communities, climate justice, and immigrant rights, Martin Luther King, Jr. was right when he said: "justice too long delayed is justice denied..."
